Gartner: IT spending to grow 4.6 percent this year — IT spending around the world will rise 4.6 percent this year to reach $3.4 trillion, according to research released Thursday by Gartner. — Though modest, the growth will show much needed improvement over last year when spending actually dipped 4.6 percent from 2008.
