You cannot update your “JavaScript”. JavaScript is a scripting language, which you can even write using Notepad. I believe that you mean to update Java, which is the engine to process Java files, not JavaScript. You will need to log in as an administrator or power user and browse to http://www.java.com to update your version of Java. If you do not have these user rights, you will need the owner of the system to update Java for you.
There is nothing to “update” with javascript…you can only enable or disable it.
The procedure to enable javascript depends upon the browser that you are using. Here is the procedure for the most popular browsers:
