I got a Grosker P2P low level threat virus on my computer, and CA security has not removed it after running the anti virus program several times. How do I get CA to remove it? Also is there a better way to prevent from getting these viruses, or do I just have to remove them once they appear?

In recent tests we found Avira best at preventing, removing, detecting bad stuff.

Consider trying it.

Downside – you’re going to have to find something to do with you money, since it is free ;)

It does a buy the upgrade popup every once in a while. Seems a fair tradeoff.

Remove your current av and install avast home edition and malwarebytes. they are both free and will keep you safe. Avira is good but did not score as high as avast in a recent av test comparing 16 different av’s. (see the comparisons in the link below). Avira had 21 false positive reports. thats alot! Avast had 5.

You can remove using the MalwareBytes:

Download MalwareBytes Anti-malware (FREE)
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Run the Windows in Safe Mode (F8) and Perform a Full Scan with MalwareBytes Anti-malware.

Note: the malware may prevent mbam-setup.exe from downloading and running. You can download and rename this program from a different computer before running it on infected system.
