No, internet security includes anti-virus protection and it’s a bad idea to have two AV programs (or two anti-spyware programs) running in real-time mode.
Both BitDefender and Norton are good AVs and Norton 2009 is reported to be a big improvement on previous version in terms of size and speed. However, have a look through the posts here and a lot of people are having a big problem with a ‘virus’ that Norton is detecting but not removing.
Also, both the Norton and the BitDefender firewalls aren’t secure, so I’d rule both out as suites. Kaspersky has an excellent AV and an excellent firewall. If I wanted a suite, it would be my choice. See these firewall tests:

Do a seach for ‘buy Kaspersky’ and you’ll probably get a good deal.
Hi manjo,
This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.
Norton Internet Security is a full-featured internet security application that includes protection for viruses, worms, spyware, bots, and more.
It is not advised to have more than one active antivirus and internet security application running at the same time, as it can cause conflicts and leave your system vulnerable to infections. You should also make sure that Windows Defender and the Windows firewall are disabled as well to avoid conflicts.
If by chance you are using Norton Internet Security 2007-2008 and have a valid subscription, you are entitled to a free update to the 2009 version, which is highly encouraged. If you need to update, please visit the Norton Update Center at the link below.
