How did my computer’s security get turned off?

My computer’s security sent me a message that my security had been turned off. I didn’t do it. How did it happen? Could someone have turned it off through an email? The security is Norton 360.
BTW, I turned it back on, you’re not going to get infected.

It can get turned off through updates of the system software itself or a windows update. It is highly unlikely that an email could turn off your anti-virus program. As long as you can still turn it back on and it is not a recurring problem, it is normal.

Might want to scan the computer with this FREE utility….Malware has been known to shut off antivirus protection…..

Hi Autumn.
Maybe Norton is better now, but a while back it had a very bad reputation.
