GAO sees no compelling reason to restrict Cloud data centers to U.S. locations
In a May 2011 solicitation for Cloud providers – particularly for email services – the General Services Administration (GSA) found itself in an argument with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) over whether the data centers that would provide such Cloud services to the federal government could be located outside the United States.
