Cardboard box outlives Toshiba laptop

The laptop was a Toshiba Satellite 310CDS, reportedly hot stuff back in the late 1990s.

The box it came in is what you see pictured above, and, unlike the laptop, it still fulfills a purpose today, according to a reader of the section of Reddit known appropriately as r/MildlyInteresting.

“We use this box for waste paper in the office,” he writes. “Its useful life has been more than a decade longer than the computer it contained.”

Who needs your fancy plastic recycling receptacle when you have a perfectly sturdy, if somewhat tape-fortified, cardboard one on hand already doing the job?
