Do you have to remove your old version of Norton Internet Security before installing a new one?
I currently have a free trial of Norton Internet Security 2009 which came with my laptop. It was cheaper to buy the CD of Norton Internet Security 2010 than to renew my trial with Norton, so that’s what I did. When I receive my new version in the mail, do I need to uninstall the 2009, and then install 2010? Or does it automatically take care of this for you? Thanks so much!
it will do it automatically but it will tell you/ ask you about it but yeah you just go a head and, put your new version on and, follow the instructions
Most security programs require you to remove the older program before you install the newer one.
The installation using the CD might work, or it might not work. You can always remove the existing program through the Control Panel – Add or Remove Programs first.
You can go to the Norton/Symantec website and get a software removal program specific to the version you are trying to remove:
