Half billion Facebook users info found on hacking site

Cyber security experts warn that a half billion Facebook users’ information has been posted to a website used by hackers.

Those records include full names, locations, e-mail addresses and phone numbers for 32M Americans.

Facebook claims that this is old data previously reported in 2019, and that the social media company found and fixed the issue at that time.

Internet security experts believe the data could still be of value to hackers and cyber criminals who specialize in identity theft.

With all of it in one place and easily accessible, experts believe consumers should be aware of the risk for more social engineering scams.
