But if your talking about the average Joe, than we don’t spend very much, and its not really necisicary to. Most ISP’s will offer a free, and sometimes name brand Internet security suite or one came free with their computer. There are other open source or freeware internet security suites like AVG. Even if you go out and buy one it will only set you back about $70 for a decent one. What it all boils down to though is how educated the end user is. Stop clicking on banner adds, don’t open spam mail, don’t surf porn sites or other dubiously legal or moral sites and your chances of coming in contact with a virus are very minor.
