I have the XP Internet Security virus, but I can’t open the internet?
My computer has somehow gotten the XP internet security virus, and I’m trying to get rid of it, but it won’t let me open the internet, the virus is blocking it.
I need it to downlad the programs to fix the computer. How can I do this, and are there any programs you can recommend for this?
Restart your computer.
When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows Advanced Options menu.
Select the option for Safe Mode With Networking using the arrow keys.
Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode With Networking.
Now try to download install, update Malwarebytes and scan with it.

You need to boot the computer in safe mode with networking.
To do this hit the F-8 key repeatedly right before the windows logo when it first trys to start.
