Ransomware attack causes network issues
Video above: News To Go – Oct. 28,The Martin County tax collector’s office confirmed Thursday its network issues are connected to a ransomware attack.The IT department received a notification Sunday that their systems had been impacted by Blackbyte ransomware, the Martin County Board of Commissioners said. “Our Office is aware of this security incident and cannot provide further comment at this time,” Attorney General Ashley Moody’s office said in a statement. The network issues began Oct. 20. Some Martin County tax collector services went back online on Wednesday, though most are still down.The concealed weapons permit services at the Willoughby Branch and Hobe Sound Branch are back online, as well as TSA services at the Palm City Branch.
