T-Mobile impacted by security breach last month
LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Some T-Mobile customers’ call records could be exposed after a security breach last month.
Hackers accessed customer information including phone numbers and the number of lines attached to an account. In some cases, call-related information, which T-Mobile said had been collected as part of the normal operation of its wireless service, was retrieved.
The company says the information did not include customer names, physical addresses, or email addresses.
They also say credit card data, social security numbers, passwords, and PINs were not exposed.
So far, T-Mobile has notified less than 0.5% of its customers, roughly 200,000 people who may have been affected.
Previously, T-Mobile had security breaches in Aug. 2018, Nov. 2019, and March 2020.
