AWS Announces General Availability of AWS IoT FleetWise

New service makes it easier for automotive companies to collect, transform, and transfer vehicle data to the cloud in near real time, enabling improved vehicle quality and autonomy

SEATTLE, September 27, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon.com, Inc. company (NASDAQ: AMZN), today announced the general availability of AWS IoT FleetWise, a new service that makes it easier for automotive companies to collect, transform, and transfer vehicle data to the cloud in near real time. Automakers, suppliers, fleet operators, and technology solution vendors in the automotive industry can use AWS IoT FleetWise to collect and organize vehicle data more easily, and to store the data in a standardized way for data analysis in the cloud. AWS IoT FleetWise helps automotive companies efficiently transfer data to the cloud in near real time using the service’s intelligent data-collection capabilities. These capabilities allow developers to reduce the amount of data transferred to the cloud by defining rules for when to collect and transfer it based on configurable parameters (e.g., vehicle temperature, speed, and type). Once the data is in the cloud, automotive companies can use it for applications that analyze vehicle fleet health to more quickly identify potential recalls or safety issues, make in-vehicle infotainment systems smarter, or improve advanced technologies like autonomous driving and advanced driver-assistance systems with analytics and machine learning. There are no upfront costs to use AWS IoT FleetWise, and customers pay only for the underlying services used. To get started with AWS IoT FleetWise, visit aws.amazon.com/iot-fleetwise.

“Automotive companies want to use the broad portfolio of AWS services to help manage the vast amounts of data coming from connected vehicles, but they have lacked a solution that made it easier to collect, transform, and transfer data to the cloud,” said Mike Tzamaloukas, general manager of IoT automotive at AWS. “Now, with AWS IoT FleetWise, customers can easily pinpoint the exact vehicle data they need and…

AWS Announces General Availability of Three New Serverless Analytics Offerings

New serverless options for Amazon EMR, Amazon MSK, and Amazon Redshift help customers analyze vast amounts of data without having to configure, scale, or manage the underlying infrastructure

Informatica, NextGen Healthcare, and Huron among customers and partners using new serverless analytics options

SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon.com, Inc. company (NASDAQ: AMZN), today announced the general availability of three new serverless analytics offerings that make it even easier for customers to analyze vast amounts of data without having to configure, scale, or manage the underlying infrastructure. Today’s announcements include new serverless offerings for Amazon EMR to enable customers to run analytics applications using open-source big data frameworks (Apache Spark and Hive) without having to manage the underlying infrastructure, Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (Amazon MSK) to simplify real-time data ingestion and streaming, and Amazon Redshift to allow customers to run high-performance data warehousing and analytics workloads on petabytes of data without having to manage clusters. Along with other serverless analytics offerings from AWS such as Amazon QuickSight for business intelligence and AWS Glue for data integration, the new offerings announced today make it significantly easier and more cost-effective for customers to modernize their infrastructure and analyze vast amounts of data without worrying about capacity planning or incurring excess costs by over-provisioning for peak demand. There are no upfront commitments or additional costs to use Amazon EMR Serverless, Amazon MSK Serverless, and Amazon Redshift Serverless, and customers only pay for the precise capacity needed for their analytics workloads.

“By offering the most serverless options for data analytics in the cloud—including options for data warehousing, big data processing, real-time data analysis, data integration, interactive dashboards and visualizations, and more—we are making it even easier for customers to maximize the value of their data to drive innovation, improve customer experiences, and make better decisions faster,” said Swami…

Extreme : Security and Availability across Service Provider Data Center and Mobile Edge Network Infrastructure with Trusted Delivery

Headlines around supply chain attacks remain consistent. Those attacks keep on growing. 2020 ended with a blockbuster supply chain attack, namely Solarwinds, and attacks continued well into 2021.

The Identify Theft Resource Center keeps a tap on all publicly known security breaches. By September 30, 2021 the total number of events in comparison to FY 2020 has been exceeded by 17 percent. The trendline continues to point to a record-breaking year for data compromises. You can check over here for more details.

Those security breaches have several material business impacts:

  • Disruption of operation of the supply chain
  • Significant damage to brand and reputation
  • Impact on product safety and integrity
  • Loss of theft of IP
  • Substantial fines and fees

With cyberattacks on the rise, supply chain security is more critical than ever, requiring state-of-the-art network technology from end to end. Trusted Delivery enables network administrators to validate hardware components, boot processes, and the operating system (OS) throughout the device lifecycle – without disrupting device functionality – mitigating the risk of supply chain cyberattacks.

Trusted Delivery – Key Benefits:

  • Secure Foundation for Future Deployments: With Trusted Delivery, Extreme delivers an additional layer of certainty for Service Providers that are beginning to move away from legacy solutions and ensures a foundation of secure, validated infrastructure to support new networks. Available today across the Extreme 8000 Series, including the Extreme 8520 and Extreme 8720 data center and cellular edge leaf and spine switches, Trusted Delivery provides mechanisms for verifying device security and performance during operation, enabling service providers to deploy new infrastructure with confidence.
  • Increased Simplicity in Hardware Validation: Measured boot, an anti-tamper mechanism, gives operators the ability to validate hardware and boot processes remotely without shutting the device down. This saves time and…
