Walker campaign buys Twitter spotlight out from under Ted Cruz

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Tex., has Twitter all abuzz this afternoon following his announcement this morning that he will run for president.

As would be expected, his name is among the “trending” topics on Twitter.

However, click on that name and the first thing you’ll see – or at least the first thing I did — is not a tweet by or about Cruz, but rather an advertisement (pictured above) for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. The governor is an unannounced but presumed candidate for the same Republican nomination that Cruz hopes to win.

At this point in the race, I would say that Walker’s social media team holds a significant edge.
