What are ways to gain skills as a securiy researcher (computer/network security)? What kind of salary/career?
I have a programming background, but I would like to know what areas to focus on to have a wide range of skills to draw from. I want to consult eventually. Aiming for flexibility, mass appeal for the market, and pay.
