It’s 2021 and we are still reading news of cryptocurrency security breaches.
News was reported last week of an alleged breach of Indian crypto exchange BuyUCoin. Although the company claims that only “non-sensitive, dummy data” was disclosed, the alleged data dump included three separate archives, dates June 1, July 14 and September 5, 2020.
Last week, the Russian cryptocurrency exchange Livecoin also closed its doors after an alleged cyber attack.
As interest in cryptocurrencies continues to rise – almost as rapidly as the value of Bitcoin itself – the ability to hold, store and transfer digital assets becomes crucial, especially for those of significant interest.
One way to avoid breaches is to keep your assets in a cold wallet. Another technique for securing your cryptocurrency is to use transactional solutions that do not connect to the internet.
