The Twitter handles of a Union minister, a Governor and a former chief minister were hacked on Sunday. The hackers changed the names of these handles and used them to post tweets in Urdu.

The handles of Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, and former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda have now been retrieved.

While the Twitter handle of Bhupinder Singh Hooda was renamed as @iLoveAlbaik, the other two accounts were used to post tweets in Urdu.

These hacking incidents come close on the heels of similar instances in recent days.

Just last night, the NDRF’s official Twitter account was compromised. The account was then used to tweet malicious links before it was finally recovered.

The Twitter accounts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) and the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA) were also briefly compromised in recent weeks. The handles were even used to tweet crypto-currency-related malicious links.
