Which internet security program is best and why?

Okay, I have AVG but every time it scans, it finds nothing. While this should be a rejoicing moment, I can’t help but think it might be skipping over problems. What is the best FREE internet security I can download and why?

Your surfing habits are your number one security measure, not some program. Those programs don’t give you a license to surf the dark side of the web. Here is a link to five security surfing tips. http://techguylabs.com/radio/Main/SecurityTips

AVG is good and does fine so long as you keep it up to date. None of the programs are able to completely protect you. You can get a second opinion at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/#tabgs Wile you can’t have two antivirus programs, you can use an online one to double check.

If you just use that, you will find yourself back in here asking how to get rid of something,, Most peeps, not enough apparently,,know that NO av program or suite will detect at 100 % . So what most peeps do , is use a layered approach.. They use an av program, an anti malware program and an anti spyware program..

That being said, Malwarebytes Antimalware and SuperAntiSpyware are the top ones for this.. Avg free has a basic rootkit protection, for free av program.. Avast will do or Microsoft Security Essentials..

Another good thing to use would be sandboxie ,, google it and check it out..
Add on’s on your browser like mywot and site advisor will give you ratings on sites.. May want to use those.. Good luck.. stay safe.. ~
