Google DoubleClick down, leaving sites ad-free

Many Internet news sites are involuntarily ad-free at this moment because of a problem being experienced by Google DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP).

Network World is among the sites making AdBlock Plus temporarily unnecessary, while published accounts list The Wall Street Journal, BBC.com, Mashable and Business Insider among those sporting white space where advertising belongs.

The outage reportedly began just after 9:30.

No word yet from Google on the DoubleClick blog or either of the DoubleClick Twitter accounts.
