Guardicore strengthens existing ransomware protection capabilities
Guardicore announced new features that reduce the complexity of segmentation policy creation and enforcement to more effectively secure complex enterprise environments against ransomware attacks.
According to Forrester’s New Tech: Microsegmentation, Q3 20211 report, “Ransomware, once it gets into a network perimeter via phishing or other threat vector, spreads internally through SMB exploits…and RDP exploits…microsegmentation will slow down the propagation of future ransomware.”
Yet, as organizations increasingly adopt cloud, hybrid and OT/IoT technologies, consistent segmentation policy enforcement across operating environments is a primary area of concern. Guardicore’s latest features simplify policy creation and enforcement and strengthen ransomware protection across any environment.

The latest Android 12 smartphone system made a huge noise after it was announced in the recently concluded Google I/O event. Some rumors and speculations even claimed that this new software is the search engine giant’s biggest visual update to date.

However, Google hasn’t revealed the exact public release of the new Android 12 software.
Although this is the case, some rumors provided possible details about the official launch date of the new Google smartphone system.
They said that it could arrive around August or September since the previous Android 11 was also released during those months, specifically back on Sept. 8, 2020.

This is shown by some recent code designed to affect ESXi, a hypervisor software, with the goal being to infect the hypervisor and propagate their code to virtual machines.
Ryuk ransomware develops worm-like capabilities, France warns — According to an analysis from the French National Agency for the Security of Information Systems, the Ryuk ransomware has developed worm-like self-replicating capabilities. From a functional perspective, this means that the ransomware can propagate without human interaction. The addition of new capabilities to Ryuk will be of special interest to the healthcare sector, where Ryuk was responsible for 75% of attacks.
High severity Linux network security holes found, fixed — A set of five critical vulnerabilities in the Linux kernel’s virtual socket implementation were found and fixed recently. The vulnerabilities exist when Linux’s virtual socket multi-transport support is added, which is typically used to facilitate communication between virtual machines and their host.
Microsoft Releases Out-of-Band Security Patches for Exchange Server — Microsoft released several out-of-band patches for multiple zero-day flaws that are actively being exploited in the wild. Organizations running Exchange Server 2013, Exchange Server 2016, and Exchange Server 2019 products should apply these patches right away.
