General Dynamics awarded $900 million USAF contract for Joint Global Broadcast Service program

General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, was awarded a contract from the Global Broadcast Service (GBS) Joint Program Office at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts for the production of approximately 1,500 Transportable Ground Receive Suites (TGRS) and 1,110 retrofit kits for systems already in the field.

The competitively awarded, five-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract has a total potential value of $900 million if the maximum number of units is ordered.

The Government Accountability Office has thrown out a contract protest lodged by BayFirst Solutions, LLC, of Washington, DC, after BayFirst objected to the State Department’s award of an $18 million contract to a rival, Veteran’s Solutions, Inc. (VSI), of Arlington, VA, to provide support services related to the upgrade of security at U.S. Government locations overseas.

Hughes awarded Texas satellite broadband Internet services contract

Hughes Network Systems, LLC, a supplier of broadband satellite solutions and services, and a provider of managed network and application services, announced on June 27 that it has been awarded a contract by the State of Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) to provide primary business Internet and access continuity services.

The multiple award contract comes under the Texas Agency Network Next Generation (Tex-AN NG) Communications Technology Services program, and is for a period of five years.
