I uninstalled Norton Internet Suite from my computer but the Security Scan stayed behind. It is running now and I don’t want it on there. Also, why do they ship all that third party crap. It makes it impossible to do a “clean Install” of Windows?
Cox high speed internet security suite keeps telling me that there is a suspected file or something, and I just want to know how to do a complete scan of all files on the computer.
Can you also tell me how to stop pop-ups on mozilla firefox. It never used to happen before. I would really appreciate it.
I presently use Firefox exclusively as my browser, Sunbelt Personal Firewall (paid registered version) is always running, Webroot Spy Sweeper is my main anti-spyware with Ad-Aware as secondary backup, and AVG Free edition is my anti-virus. In addition to that, I always run CCleaner after every internet session. I’m running on a Windows 2000 professional OS. Now the thing is that I run a scan with Spy Sweeper and AVG about once a week, but not once in about a year have I gotten anything at the end of any of the scans but “congratulations! no spyware/virus found” at the end of the scans. So what I need to know is whether my security suite is really working that well, or could there be something that it might be overlooking.
Any knowledgeable opinions out there?
I have Verizon internet, and I was recently hit by a small blitz of trojan viruses. I now prefer to run a deep scan with Verizon Internet Security Suite (VISS,) but I don’t know how long it takes. How long does it take? Also, should I keep the computer running while the scan is being performed?
