Nokia Mobile updates (November 25) its Security & OS update tracker with latest details

The official Nokia Mobile Security + OS update tracker page for Nokia smartphones has been updated recently on November 25, 2021. The page update brings details about the availability of the maintenance update or Security or firmware (MR) update for Nokia smartphones.

As per the latest updated information provided on the page, the November Security update is available for Nokia 9 PureView, Nokia 5.3, Nokia XR20, Nokia G50 Nokia 1.3, Nokia 1.4 and Nokia 2.2. The October security update is available for other eligible Nokia smartphones. Though many other Nokia smartphones are yet on past Security patch levels.

You may be already aware that the Nokia Smartphone Security Maintenance Release Summary page lists Build number and details like whether it is just a security patch or firmware update + security patch for a particular device. But now, Nokia Mobile has enhanced the details provided for each Nokia smartphone on the page. It has added new columns for “Security Patch Cadence” and “No guaranteed Security Patch updates after”.

The cadence tells us whether the smartphone is getting monthly or quarterly security updates. No guaranteed security patch update column mentions the time when smartphone’s 3-year promised security update period ends.

In case the security update is not yet available for your Nokia smartphone, you should check the build number of your smartphone and confirm it with the information provided on the page. If the build number for a particular device is mentioned in the list then only it gets the update.

Nokia Mobile official update tracker

Nokia Mobile updated its Smartphone Security Maintenance Release Summary page on July 23, 2021. It presents the details about the availability of the security patches (SP) and maintenance releases (MR) for Nokia smartphones, alongside the SP version and the Software (SW) ID. Additionally, it mentions the scheme of updates, whether it is monthly or quarterly, and the month and year until which the device will get the security patches.

As per the updated summary, Nokia Mobile released new updates for around 15 phones since July 2. The Nokia 6.2, which was stuck on March SP for around three months, jumped to the April patch. Nokia 1 Plus, which is now receiving quarterly updates, picked the May update. Nokia 3.2, Nokia 4.2, Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 7.1, and Nokia X10 are now on June SP. The July update has rolled out to Nokia C1 Plus, Nokia 1.4, Nokia 2.2, Nokia 2.3, Nokia 7.2, Nokia 8.3 5G, while the Nokia G10 also got an MR. The Wave 1 rollout of Android 11 Go for Nokia 1.3 started on July 22.

To find the information about your device in the summary, select your Nokia smartphone from the drop-down menu and find the SW ID that resembles the one that you have on your device in the ‘About’ section in the ‘Settings’.

The official Nokia Mobile Security + OS update tracker page for Nokia smartphones has been updated recently on July 23, 2021. The page update brings details about the availability of the maintenance update or May/June/July 2021 Security or firmware (MR) update for Nokia smartphones.

As per the latest updated information provided on the page, the July security update is available only for Nokia 7.2, Nokia 8.3 5G, Nokia G10, Nokia 2.3 and Nokia 2.2. May and June Security updates 2021 are shown to be available for most of the eligible smartphones. But, some eligible Nokia smartphones are yet on April security update including Nokia 6.2.

As per the latest updated information provided on the page, the May security update is now available for Nokia 8.3 5G, Nokia 1.3 and Nokia 1.4. April Security update 2021 is shown to be available for most of the eligible smartphones. Some eligible Nokia smartphones are yet on March security update, however.
