Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite 5G is now receiving stable Android 11 update (still based on MIUI 12)
/in Mobile Security
Earlier this month Xiaomi started rolling out the stable Android 11 update for the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro, now their Mi 10T Lite 5G sibling is joining the party with a release on the Global Stable channel. This means that the Mi 10i 5G, which is essentially the same phone, should get the OTA update soon as well.
This update – V12.0.2.0.RJSMIXM – pushes the Android version up to 11, however, MIUI remains at version 12.0. MIUI 12.5 is coming to the device, the official schedule shows that it will arrive in late Q2.
Anyway, back to the current update. Its changelog is pretty laconic – you get Android 11, the January security patch and “increased system security” (with no further details).
If your phone isn’t seeing the update yet, you can manually download it from here. It’s a pretty hefty 2.5 GB firmware, so you better take this opportunity to back up your data while waiting for the download to complete.
By the way, the Redmi 10X 4G is receiving a similar update in China – stable MIUI 12.0 based on Android 11. The Redmi Note 9 is based on the 10X 4G, but so far there are no signs of a global rollout for this particular update.
