IRS: Actually, that breach last year was way worse than we thought

For U.S. taxpayers, the news just keeps getting worse about the cyberattack discovered last year on the IRS’s Get Transcript application,

At first, it looked like just over 100,000 taxpayers had been affected. Then, last August, the number was updated to more than 300,000.

Now, it looks like a further 390,000 people’s information could have been breached, bringing the total estimate to over 700,000.

Two years ago at CES, the Wireless Power Consortium’s (WPC) booth looked like one of those cellphone case stands you’d find in the center of the aisle at your local mall. This year, the WPC’s booth was in the exact same location, but this time it looked like the rest of the mall: a café next to a home appliance store next to a mattress store.

That underlines the shift in approach for the wireless charging industry. The companies that are using the technology are making inroads with large consumer-facing companies, which will start offering the technology to their smartphone-wielding customers.

This is what Sundar Pichai actually said about Android malware and security
BGR
I would argue that it's the best way for a platform to be secure, because every researcher in the world can inspect it, every developer in the world can inspect it, and I think that contributes a lot to Android security,” Pichai said. He continued
