Early in June, search giant Google revealed that hundreds of accounts for its cloud-based email service, Gmail — among them the accounts of some senior U.S. government officials — were hacked as a result of a massive phishing scheme. With some new features added to Gmail on June 28, Google hopes to blunt such attacks in the future.
