Temporary TSA PreCheck application center set for June 20 to 23 at AAA in Freehold, N.J.

Residents of Monmouth County, N.J., and surrounding region will be able to enroll in the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) popular TSA PreCheck® program at the AAA office in Freehold, N.J., from June 20 to 23, where officials will host a temporary “pop-up” enrollment center in a specially marked IdentoGo®/TSA PreCheck mobile RV.

TSA PreCheck is more valuable than ever because it reduces touchpoints, and as individuals make plans to travel, this is an ideal time to enroll in the program. The application process allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to enroll directly in TSA PreCheck – an expedited screening program that allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and their 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bag in a carry-on, in select TSA airport checkpoint screening lanes. More than 200 airports participate in TSA PreCheck nationwide and more than 80 airlines participate in the program.

Travelers need only to make an appointment online (appointments are being taken now) and complete their enrollment in-person or as a walk-in from Monday, June 20, to Thursday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the AAA office, located at 3478 US 9, Freehold, NJ 07728.

To participate in this enrollment opportunity, travelers should make an appointment online and pre-enroll online. It typically only takes 10 minutes to pre-enroll. After completing the pre-enrollment steps, applicants type in the location “Freehold, NJ,” and click on the search button to select the enrollment site for “Truck Pop-Up.” Applicants can select an appointment time using the drop down menu to choose a date and time. The drop-down menu will show the first available time available, but individuals can choose a different date and/or time using that drop-down menu. The mobile RV is equipped with steps and is not wheelchair accessible. If needed, the nearest permanent location that is ADA compliant is posted on the TSA web site.

Applicants must bring documentation proving identity and citizenship status. Visit the Universal Enroll website for a list of required documents to prove identity and…

Samsung usually makes a big splash at Mobile World Congress, unveiling new products and services. Last year, MWC was canceled due to the pandemic, but 2021 is a new year, and Samsung is holding a virtual MWC event on June 28.

The live-streamed event will start at 10:15 am PT/1:15 pm ET on June 28, and will be streamed on Samsung’s YouTube channel, as well as the official MWC website.

The name of the event gives away what Samsung plans on talking about during the press conference: Galaxy Ecosystem, New Watch Experience, Mobile Security.

Google and Samsung recently announced that Wear OS, Google’s wearable operating system, and Tizen OS, Samsung’s wearable OS, were joining forces to create a new, more robust wearable offering from the Android maker. This will likely be the first look at the new OS we’ll get, and hopefully, some hardware will follow shortly after.

According to Samsung’s press release announcing the event, the company plans on “unveiling its vision for the future of smartwatches” that will “deliver a new era of smartwatch experience.”

Sounds great, however, Google’s track record with WearOS isn’t all that impressive. Currently called “Wear,” it’ll be interesting to see which features of the respective operating systems are kept.

Also on the agenda for the event are improvements for mobile security, presumably Samsung’s Knox offering that is used on its Galaxy phones.

Samsung’s Galaxy Ecosystem, which consists of everything from smartwatches and smartphones to computers and tablets, will also be a topic of discussion during the event. Hopefully Samsung is working on adding more features to make it easier to share content between your various Samsung devices, similar to Apple’s Continuity feature that makes it easy to open links, emails, or share content between a Mac, iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch when they’re near one another.

We’ll have full coverage of the Samsung event on June 28. In…

Google announced its partnership with Samsung over the next WearOS update. The new update is set to be the biggest Wear update in years. However, Google did not reveal any new hardware among the announcements. Now reports suggest that Google could announce a new watch at the upcoming Mobile World Congress.

Mobile World Congress is still planning to go ahead as an in-person, physical event this year. However, many companies have withdrawn from the event, including Samsung. The virtual agenda for the event does mention a “Galaxy Ecosystem/New Watch Experience/Mobile Security”. The event is scheduled for Monday, June 28.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4: What we know so far

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 could come with the new WearOS update, revealed a tipster on Twitter. Check out the tweet below.

The cited source mentions that the watch would be running “TizenWear OS”. This could mean that the device will ship with Samsung’s custom skin, which will be based on Google’s Wear platform. Apart from this, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4 will reportedly ditch the 2.5D glass panel and will instead offer a flat 2D glass, which will protect the display from any type of damage.

The new Galaxy Watch is also said to come with a smaller bezel. It is unknown whether the Galaxy Watch Active 4 will have a digital rotating bezel for scrolling through menus. Tipster Roland Quandt has reported that Samsung will unveil two models, and one of them will have an aluminium chassis. The other one will feature stainless steel body.

It will be powered by a 5nm chipset, which is expected to offer faster performance, improved energy efficiency and increased battery life than the competition.
