When you install Windows 11, Windows Security, also known as Windows Defender, becomes the default antivirus and security solution. It is one of the greatest remedies available, and it is effective in the vast majority of circumstances.

Nevertheless, one of the most frequently encountered concerns has been the fact that, after an upgrade or at random, Windows Defender does not open or function as expected.

Occasionally, when you attempt to activate Windows Security, you may see a slew of bizarre error messages. It may, for example, propose that you install a new app in order to access the Windows Defender link.

The window appears for a brief moment before disappearing without a trace. The troubleshooting techniques listed below should be used if restarting your computer does not resolve the issue. First, we will understand…

Unabomber Ted Kaczynski moved to medical center

The Unabomber has a new home.

Theodore “Ted” Kaczynski, 79, was transferred to the US Bureau of Prison’s Federal Medical Center Butner medical center in eastern North Carolina on Dec. 14, bureau spokesperson Donald Murphy confirmed.

He’d previously spent decades in a maximum security federal prison after being convicted for killing three people in a series of 16 planned explosions targeting scientists.

Murphy declined to give any information regarding Kaczynski’s condition or why he was moved.

Kaczynski pleaded guilty to setting 16 explosions that killed three people and injured 23 others in various parts of the country between 1978 and 1995. He was arrested at his remote cabin in western Montana in 1996, and is currently serving a life-sentence with no chance of parole.

FMC Butner, which is located just northeast of Durham in Granville County, offers medical services for prisoners including oncology, surgery, neurodiagnostics and dialysis, according to the Bureau of Prisons. It opened an advanced care and hospice unit in 2010.

The facility, which currently hosts 771 inmates, has been a home for other notorious criminals such as serial killer John Hinckley Jr. and ponzi-scheme mastermind Bernie Madoff, who died there earlier this year.

Kaczynski, a Harvard graduate, sent his bombs to his victims by mail including a package that exploded on an American Airlines flight that caused widespread panic among airlines and mail carriers. In 1995, he threatened to blow up a plane departing from Los Angeles before July 4. He was dubbed the Unabomber by the FBI because his early targets appeared to be universities and airlines.

Officials won’t comment on Ted Kaczynski’s condition or why the Unabomber was transferred.

Kaczynski killed computer rental store owner Hugh Scrutton, advertising executive Thomas Mosser and timber industry lobbyist Gilbert Murray. California geneticist Charles Epstein and Yale University computer expert David Gelernter were maimed by bombs two days apart in June…

Extreme Ensures Security, Availability Across Service Provider Data Center and Mobile Edge Network Infrastructure with Trusted Delivery

Eliminates Unnecessary Network Downtime, Creates Additional Layer of Certainty in Deploying New Infrastructure

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 16, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Extreme Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXTR), a cloud-driven networking company, today announced Extreme Trusted Delivery, a carrier-grade solution designed to protect critical network infrastructure and ensure it is performing as anticipated without interference, regardless of location. Trusted Delivery protects key service delivery infrastructure at remote and unattended cellular edge sites, as well within co-location and data center environments where shared facility access is a potential concern.

With cyberattacks on the rise, supply chain security is more critical than ever, requiring state-of-the-art network technology from end to end. Trusted Delivery enables network administrators to validate hardware components, boot processes, and the operating system (OS) throughout the device lifecycle – without disrupting device functionality – mitigating the risk of supply chain cyberattacks.

Key Benefits:

  • Secure Foundation for Future Deployments: With Trusted Delivery, Extreme delivers an additional layer of certainty for service providers that are beginning to move away from legacy solutions and ensures a foundation of secure, validated infrastructure to support new networks. Available today across the Extreme 8000 Series, including the Extreme 8520 and Extreme 8720 data center and cellular edge leaf and spine switches, Trusted Delivery provides mechanisms for verifying device security and performance during operation, enabling service providers to deploy new infrastructure with confidence.

  • Increased Simplicity in Hardware Validation: Measured boot, an anti-temper mechanism, gives operators the ability to validate hardware and boot processes remotely without shutting the device down. This saves time and resources and prevents unnecessary service disruptions. Measured boot implementation is enabled by a microcontroller-based hardware root of trust (HWRoT) in conjunction with a Trusted Platform Module (TPM)….

Lorex Smart Home Security Center review: Self-monitor, no fees

The budget-priced Lorex Smart Home Security Center (model HC64A) consists of a touchscreen console, two indoor/outdoor cameras, and a Wi-Fi range extender. The system can be expanded with up to six additional cameras, as well as motion and door/window sensors and a video doorbell—provided they’re all manufactured by Lorex. But you’ll need to monitor this security system yourself, as there is no option to pay for professionals to do it for you.

Lorex offers this console in nine other kits with different combinations of cameras and sensors, ranging in price from $350 (two outdoor cameras, but no range extender) to almost $800 (four cameras, a floodlight cam, and a video doorbell). For this review, I augmented the HC64A kit with a USB-powered camera, a doorbell camera, and a motion detector.

Measuring 7.1 x 7.5 x 3.3-inches (HxWxD), the console will easily fit on any desk, kitchen counter, or even a bookshelf. Its fold-up antennas help bring in weak Wi-Fi signals, but they add 2.3 inches to its height. The center of attention is its angled 7-inch, 720p display that can show up to four video streams simultaneously.

The Lorex Smart Home Security Center’s console supports up to eight cameras, but it can show only four video streams at once.

The system has a dual-band (2.4- and 5GHz) Wi-Fi adapter onboard, as well as a Bluetooth LE radio. It supports a variety of indoor and outdoor Lorex home security cameras, including a camera/floodlight combo. The company doesn’t sell door locks, thermostats, smoke detectors, or air-quality sensors, and the hub can’t connect to generic smart home devices that use the Zigbee or Z-Wave protocols. As such, it’s a better security camera system than it is an entire smart home system.

This Lorex hardware does work with Amazon Alexa and Google Home Assistant, but it can’t stream video directly to an Amazon Echo or Google Nest smart display. You can stream the camera feeds to a TV that has an Amazon Fire TV or Chromecast plugged into it. It isn’t compatible with Apple’s HomeKit ecosystem, and Lorex is not part of the Connectivity Standards Alliance’s Matter initiative to standardize smart…
