Getting rid of this annoying System Security computer virus protection?

Every 4 minutes in middle of something it pops up, tells me that it caught another virus trying to invade my computer. then I close it, and this “Are you sure you want to close this?” thing comes up! I went to control panel but the System Security is not listed there! WHY? the noton security’s there though! why not this one? Ugh. Someone help hella annoying
It keeps telling me to activate the damn thing but i cant it costs money to

How can I check if my computer security suite is working – I keep getting nothing whenever I run a scan?

I presently use Firefox exclusively as my browser, Sunbelt Personal Firewall (paid registered version) is always running, Webroot Spy Sweeper is my main anti-spyware with Ad-Aware as secondary backup, and AVG Free edition is my anti-virus. In addition to that, I always run CCleaner after every internet session. I’m running on a Windows 2000 professional OS. Now the thing is that I run a scan with Spy Sweeper and AVG about once a week, but not once in about a year have I gotten anything at the end of any of the scans but “congratulations! no spyware/virus found” at the end of the scans. So what I need to know is whether my security suite is really working that well, or could there be something that it might be overlooking.
Any knowledgeable opinions out there?

i have mcafee &windows security says my computer is safe yet i keep getting messages that i have viruses help?

I keep getting pop ups that say that there are all kinds of trojans, and viruses attacking my computer. when i scan my system with mcafee there is nothing to be found. when i click the button from the popup to “fix” my system, i am immediately given the opportunity to buy a new computer security system from something called Internet Security 2010

I’m planning on getting into Computer/Network Security as a career. What topics should I learn?
Programming languages, computer topics or essential things that I can read/learn in a book. Things i already have knowledge of are php, oracle, c++, java, linux, visual basics, xml, and perl. Which of these should i go further in depth, plus others?
