i have mcafee security on my computer but it freezes and runs slow or takes long to load a page what else can i do? thank you

I go to Control Panel and try and Uninstall it but when I click on it, says “The specified module could not be found”.. I have no idea what to do, any help would be appreciated.. thanks alot
